The Believer's Pledge

Heavenly Father, as a soldier in Your army:

I pledge to stand in the spiritual battle against all evil.

Please help me to grow into the believers’ armor so that I may stand victorious in Your strength.

I pledge to put on my belt of truthfulness.

Help me to be ready, committed, and dedicated to the spiritual battle with the attitude of truthfulness.

I pledge to put on my breastplate of righteousness.

Help me to win the battles over the enemy by protecting my thoughts and emotions through daily holy living and obedience to God.

I pledge to put on my shoes of peace.

Help me to stand firm in the glorious knowledge that Christ has reconciled me to God and that God is on my side and will always be by my side.

I pledge to take up my shield of faith.

Help protect me against temptation by always placing my faith in God.

I pledge to put on my helmet of salvation.

Help me to know that no matter how tough the battle gets, my salvation is guaranteed.

I pledge to take up my sword of the Spirit.

Help me to know the Word of God so that I can use it properly as a defensive weapon as well as an offensive weapon to save and to sanctify.

I pledge to pray at all times in the Spirit.

Help me to continuously pray in harmony with the will of the Holy Spirit, which is the Spirit of God.

My Father, with this armor and by Your strength:

I pledge to stand against the forces of darkness.

I pledge to resist temptations by remaining awake, sober, and alert at all times.

I pledge to continuously watch and pray for all my fellow believers.
